Spring
This is a simple simulation that solves a second-order ODE (ordinary
differential equation) based on Hooke's and Newton's laws.
I have included an animated gif just to make it look nicer.
Activities
-
Drag on the ball to set new initial conditions
-
Modify the mass and/or the elastic constant and see the variation in
amplitude and frequency of the movement
-
(Advanced) Make measurements and deduce a formula for the relationship
among the mass, the elastic constant and the period of the movement!
